AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND PROGRAMS DEALING WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to contract with community domestic violence shelters to provide services to victims of domestic violence and their families statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
