AN ACT

RELATING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING; REQUIRING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO REIMBURSE CERTIFIED REGIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING FACILITIES FOR FIFTY PERCENT OF THEIR COSTS OF OPERATIONS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of the Law Enforcement Training Act is enacted to read:

"[NEW MATERIAL] CERTIFIED REGIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING FACILITIES--DEPARTMENT TO REIMBURSE.--The department of public safety, through the budget of the training and recruiting division, shall reimburse certified regional law enforcement training facilities for fifty percent of their costs of operations."

Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 2000.
