AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR NON-TRADITIONAL-HOURS QUALITY CHILD CARE IN SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of contracting for non-traditional-hours child care, including teacher training, transportation and overnight care for children of working parents eligible for the temporary assistance for needy families in Dona Ana county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
