AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF AT-RISK FAMILIES THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to establish a statewide program for low-income, at-risk families to include case management, health and nutrition assistance, education, substance abuse prevention and employment services for approximately twenty-four thousand three hundred pregnant women throughout New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
