AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTRACTING FOR COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY-BASED CANCER PATIENT SUPPORT SERVICES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of contracting for comprehensive community-based cancer patient support services, including education services, library services, support group services and provision of one-to-one matches between cancer patients and cancer veterans. The services shall be made available to cancer patients who suffer from any type of cancer. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
