AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION TO FUND TEACHER AND ADMINISTRATOR SUMMER ACADEMIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of funding teacher and administrator summer academies designed to provide participants with work-related experiences for use in classroom instruction. Expenditure of this appropriation is contingent upon obtaining an equal or greater amount of matching funds from sources other than state funds. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
