AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAMS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO'S OFF-CAMPUS INSTRUCTION PROGRAM IN TAOS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 and 2001 to provide manpower development and training programs for persons in north central New Mexico at the university's off-campus instructional program in Taos. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
