AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CAMPUS SECURITY AWARENESS PROGRAMS AT POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Seventy-seven thousand dollars ($77,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to support campus security awareness programs at post-secondary educational institutions. The appropriation shall be allocated to the following institutions in the following manner:

(1) ten thousand dollars ($10,000) each to the six four-year and research institutions; and

(2) one thousand dollars ($1,000) each to the two-year schools and branch campuses.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
