AN ACT

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTRACT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURAL COMPARISON, AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTARIES AND PROGRAMS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred seventy-two thousand dollars ($172,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 through 2002 to contract for development of cultural comparison, awareness and understanding educational documentaries and programs in northwestern New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
