STATE OF NEW MEXICO

44TH LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION - 2000

REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS AT MUSEUMS AND MONUMENTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE AND A BOOKMOBILE FOR THE SOUTHWEST QUADRANT.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

to the office of cultural affairs

one million six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000) to provide matching funds to purchase star theater equipment and make site improvements at the museum of natural history and science in Bernalillo county;

five million two hundred thirty thousand dollars ($5,230,000) to plan, design, construct, furnish and equip a new palace of the governors annex in Santa Fe county;

one hundred eighty thousand dollars ($180,000) to purchase furnishings and equipment and make site improvements at the New Mexico farm and ranch heritage museum Dona Ana county;

five hundred sixty thousand dollars ($560,000) for the acquisition of furniture and equipment at the national Hispanic cultural center in Bernalillo county;

two hundred thirty thousand dollars ($230,000) for a state monuments long-range master plan and repairs, renovations and improvements at the Coronado state monument in Bernalillo county; and

one hundred forty-five thousand dollars ($145,000) to purchase a bookmobile for use in the southwest quadrant of the state.
