Synopsis of Bill

Senate Joint Resolution 4 proposes to amend Article 20 of the New Mexico constitution to establish a system for voluntary public financing of election campaigns for all executive, legislative and judicial state offices by 2006.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The bill does not appropriate funds. However, constitutional amendments must be placed on the ballot and properly advertised. The cost is estimated at $17.0.
