AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR CERTAIN UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER PROGRAMS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. One million six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the following purposes in the following amounts:

(1) four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) for specialty education in pediatrics;

(2) four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) for specialty education in trauma;

(3) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for the New Mexico poison and drug information center;

(4) four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) for the pediatric oncology program;

(5) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for the telemedicine project;

(6) fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the area health education centers; and

(7) fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the Los Pasos program.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
