AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER SERVICES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thirty-six thousand dollars ($336,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide matching funds pursuant to the federal Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Act of 2000 to provide medicaid eligibility for uninsured women age sixty-five or under who are identified through the centers for disease control and prevention's national breast and cervical cancer early detection program and who are in need of treatment for breast or cervical cancer, including precancerous conditions and early stage cancer. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
