Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 134

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 6, line 1, after "of" insert "public school buildings, other".

2. On page 8, line 2, after the paragraph designation "(1)" insert "no later than September 1, 2001,".

3. On page 8, line 25, strike "corrected" and insert in lieu thereof "funded".

4. On page 15, line 19, after "needed" insert "and included in the district's five-year facilities plan among its top priorities".

5. On page 16, line 3, after "willing" insert "and able".

6. On page 16, line 14, strike "that" and insert in lieu thereof "applicable to all school districts. The standards shall".

7. On page 16, line 18, after "council" insert "after July 1, 2004".

8. On page 18, line 11, after "staff" strike the remainder of the line, strike all of line 12 and strike line 13 through "professionals".

9. On page 18, line 23, after "project" insert "for grounds established by rule of the council".

10. On page 23, line 18, strike "eighteen" and insert in lieu thereof "twenty".

11. On page 23, between lines 21 and 22, insert the following paragraph:

"(2) the dean of the New Mexico state university college of engineering or his designee;".

12. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

13. On page 24, line 19, strike "two members representing" and insert in lieu thereof "three superintendents or their designees of".,

and thence referred to the TAXATION AND REVENUE COMMITTEE.
