AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A FAMILY STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIP PARENTING EDUCATION PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred fifty-six thousand two hundred dollars ($556,200) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the purpose of creating a family strengthening partnership parenting education program to improve parenting skills for four thousand low-income families in areas of Dona Ana, Luna, Otero and Sierra counties with high rates of adolescent substance abuse. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
