AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT FOR A PILOT PROJECT IN BERNALILLO COUNTY THAT PROVIDES PARENTING EDUCATION SERVICES TO TEENAGED MOTHERS WHO ARE JUVENILE OFFENDERS IN THE CUSTODY OF THE DEPARTMENT.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the purpose of providing or contracting for a pilot project in Bernalillo county that provides parenting education services to teenaged mothers who are juvenile offenders in the custody of the department. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
