AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE STATEWIDE SERVICES FOR PERSONS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million two hundred thousand dollars ($2,200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the purpose of providing psychiatric medications and other treatment services for indigent and low-income persons with mental illness, as well as for medications, housing, case management and psychiatric care for persons with mental illness eligible for jail diversion programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
