AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES THROUGH STATEWIDE CLINICS FOR LOW-INCOME PERSONS UNDER THE RURAL PRIMARY HEALTH CARE ACT.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Five million five hundred thousand dollars ($5,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the purpose of providing services under the Rural Primary Health Care Act as follows:

(1) one million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) for dental care services;

(2) three million dollars ($3,000,000) for medical services; and

(3) one million dollars ($1,000,000) for prescription drugs.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
