PROPOSED AMENDMENT DIRECTED TO A COMMITTEE

February 8, 2001

Mr. Chairman:

I propose to the SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE the following amendments to

HOUSE BILL 496, as amended

1. Strike all house appropriations and finance committee amendments.

2. On page 1, lines 11 and 12, strike "MORA COUNTY" and insert in lieu thereof "MORA, UNION, HARDING, SAN MIGUEL, GUADALUPE, TORRANCE AND SANTA FE COUNTIES".

3. On page 1, line 17, strike "Mora county" and insert in lieu thereof "Mora, Union, Harding, San Miguel, Guadalupe, Torrance and Santa Fe counties".

4. On page 2, line 7, strike "Seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000)" and insert in lieu thereof "Three million two hundred thousand dollars ($3,200,000)".

5. On page 2, line 10, after "2001" insert a period and "Seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) of the appropriation shall be expended".

6. On page 2, line 11, after "county" strike the remainder of the line and insert in lieu thereof "and the remainder of the appropriation shall be used for the emergency situations in Union, Harding, San Miguel, Guadalupe, Torrance and Santa Fe counties. The expenditures may include".
