AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO PROVIDE STATE FUNDS FOR THE CONTINUATION AND EXPANSION OF "PROJECT EXILE", A FEDERAL, STATE AND PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP TO REDUCE FIREARMS VIOLENCE IN NEW MEXICO.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide state funds for the continuation and expansion of "Project Exile", a federal, state and private partnership to reduce firearms violence in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
