AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO COMPLETE A STUDY AND DEVELOP AN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR THE DESIGNATION OF A HERITAGE AREA IN TAOS, RIO ARRIBA AND SANTA FE COUNTIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of northern New Mexico state school for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the purpose of completing a study to enable the counties of Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos to be designated as a "heritage area" and developing an educational program for that heritage area. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
