AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO IMPROVE AND EXPAND THE EXISTING ELIGIBILITY SCREENING AND PATIENT TRACKING SYSTEM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred twenty thousand dollars ($320,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to contract for professional services to expand the existing eligibility screening and patient tracking system by developing an integrated data program that will link uninsured patients to state or federally sponsored health programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
