AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO IMPROVE AND OPERATE THE WATER SYSTEM OF THE JEMEZ VALLEY MUNICIPAL SCHOOLS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred eighty-six thousand two hundred dollars ($286,200) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal years 2001 and 2002 for a water treatment system in the Jemez valley municipal schools, including operating costs of the system. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
