SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number __1____ to HOUSE BILL 899, as amended

Amendment sponsored by Senator Mary Jane M. Garcia

1. Strike all house education committee amendments.

2. Strike all house appropriations and finance committee amendments.

3. On page 2, lines 14 through 25, strike Subsection B in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof:

"B. The factors for each classification of training or degrees by years of experience shall be developed by the department of education after a review of the classified salary schedules from each school district.".

4. On page 3, between lines 21 and 22, insert the following new section:

"Section 2. TEMPORARY PROVISION.--The state department of public education shall report to the second session of the forty-fifth legislature the factors developed for each classification of training or degrees by years of experience for the classified staff training and experience index, pursuant to Subsection B of Section 22-8-24.1 NMSA 1978.".
