AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL WATER SUPPLY OPPORTUNITIES IN THE RIOS NAMBE, POJOAQUE AND TESUQUE STREAM SYSTEMS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the state engineer for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to support the development of regional water supply opportunities for the residents of the Rios Nambe, Pojoaque and Tesuque stream systems as a means for resolving Native American claims in the State ex rel. State Engineer v. Aamodt, et al. water right adjudication that are undergoing mediation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
