AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO PROVIDE SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR THREE FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES TO STAFF A SATELLITE CONSUMER PROTECTION BUREAU IN LAS CRUCES IN DONA ANA COUNTY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred fifty thousand dollars ($450,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the attorney general for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide salaries and benefits for three full-time employees to staff a satellite consumer protection bureau in Las Cruces in Dona Ana county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
