AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR IMPROVING THE ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY OF THE CHILE INDUSTRY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred forty-one thousand seven hundred dollars ($241,700) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to increase the profitable yield for chile producers and to support the economic sustainability of the New Mexico chile industry. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
