AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO CONDUCT AN OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR AT-RISK HISPANIC HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thirty-seven thousand one hundred twenty dollars ($237,120) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the office of Chicano programs to collaborate with high schools and middle schools in recruitment and retention of at-risk students through mentoring and counseling. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
