Mr. President:

Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 2, after line 25, insert the following paragraph:

"(8) one million six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000) to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for the health sciences center as follows:

(a) fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to provide area health education centers with rural student support;

(b) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for the telemedicine program;

(c) fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the Los Pasos program;

(d) eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) for the pediatric oncology and specialty physicians program;

(e) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for the poison and drug information center; and

(f) four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) to provide specialty education in trauma, critical and emergency care;".

2. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

3. On page 3, line 4, strike "and".

4. On page 3, line 8, strike the period and insert "; and".

5. On page 3, between lines 8 and 9, insert the following new paragraph to read:

"(11) four million two hundred ninety-seven thousand six hundred dollars ($4,297,600), the remainder of the tobacco settlement program fund, to the department of health for comprehensive tobacco use prevention and cessation programs.".,

and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
