AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ASSIST THE TAOS VALLEY ACEQUIA ASSOCIATION AND THE RIO DE CHAMA ACEQUIA ASSOCIATION TO DEVELOP REGIONAL ACEQUIA GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred five thousand dollars ($105,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the state engineer for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to assist the Taos valley acequia association and the Rio de Chama acequia association in developing regional acequia geographic information systems that are compatible with the statewide geographic information system being developed by the office of the state engineer. No more than five percent of the appropriation may be used by the office of the state engineer for administrative costs. The balance of the appropriation shall be distributed equally to the Taos valley acequia association and the Rio de Chama acequia association. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
