AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A SURVEY OF THE ELK POPULATION.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred fifty thousand dollars ($650,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of game and fish for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to survey the state's elk population. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
