AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTINUE DEVELOPMENT OF TRIBAL-STATE JUDICIAL COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to continue development of tribal-state judicial cooperation and understanding of the jurisdiction and sovereignty of the state and the twenty-two Indian nations, tribes and pueblos located in New Mexico as they impact state and tribal court actions regarding child abuse and neglect, juvenile justice, custody, divorce and domestic violence. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
