AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO WESTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY FOR A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN NURSING PROGRAM; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($275,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of western New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal years 2001 and 2002 to fund a bachelor of science degree in nursing program at western New Mexico university. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
