AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SALT CEDAR ERADICATION.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to develop and implement a program of eradication and control of salt cedar, using biologically safe and effective means, and restoration of native plant cover for soil erosion control and conservation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
