AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ASSIST HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO DEVELOP EXPERTISE IN THE FIELDS OF MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thirty thousand dollars ($230,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide programs at various New Mexico colleges and universities for high school students to develop expertise in the fields of mathematics, science and engineering. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
