AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN ENDOWED CHAIR IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university to match five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) in funds from private donors for the creation of an endowed chair in electrical engineering in the Klipsch school of electrical and computer engineering at New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 and subsequent fiscal years. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
