AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAM PROVIDED BY THE REGION III HOUSING AUTHORITY SERVING BERNALILLO, SANDOVAL, TORRANCE AND VALENCIA COUNTIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal years 2001 and 2002 to enable the region III housing authority to carry out a family self-sufficiency employment and training program in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
