AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH PROGRAMS STATEWIDE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thirty-eight thousand dollars ($338,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for support of maternal and child health councils and programs statewide. This appropriation is for the purpose of improving the health of mothers, children and families through prenatal and perinatal care and case management and includes funding for establishing maternal and child health programs in Luna, Roosevelt and San Miguel counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
