AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE STATEWIDE OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO SCHOOL MUSIC INSTRUCTORS FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT IN MARIACHI MUSIC AND TO ESTABLISH A LIBRARY OF MARIACHI MUSIC TO BE USED BY MUSIC INSTRUCTORS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide statewide outreach programs to school music instructors for professional development and curriculum development in mariachi music and to establish a library of mariachi music to be used by music instructors. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
