MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR LEA COUNTY GROUND WATER ASSESSMENTS, MODELING AND PLANNING.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-one thousand dollars ($71,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to support the Lea county water users' association's development of ground water models, well monitoring, assessment of deep aquifers, audits of municipal water use and analysis of the potential for ground water storage and recovery options. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
