AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO HELP SOLVE THE STATE'S SEVERE NURSING SHORTAGE BY ADDRESSING PROBLEMS SUCH AS SUPPLY AND DEMAND AND RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION AND BY DEVELOPING STRATEGIES FOR CHANGE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--

A. One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of nursing for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to help solve New Mexico's severe nursing shortage by addressing problems such as supply and demand and recruitment and retention and by developing strategies for change. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.

B. Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the board of nursing fund to the board of nursing for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to help solve New Mexico's severe nursing shortage by addressing problems such as supply and demand and recruitment and retention and by developing strategies for change. Any expended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall not revert to the general fund.
