AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND A MARKETING STUDY FOR TEN NAVAJO CHAPTERS ALONG INTERSTATE 40 NEAR GALLUP.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to fund a marketing study for Navajo communities along interstate 40 to determine the market area for each chapter, to perform consumer, competition, site, financial and project analyses and to determine the costs of construction and development of facilities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
