AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF A COST-EFFECTIVE WATER PURIFICATION METHOD FOR SALTY GROUND WATER.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to fund the research and development of a cost-effective water purification method for salty ground water in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
