AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF A YOUTH MENTORING, JOB PREPARATION AND JOB PLACEMENT PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to contract with an organization that has experience working with youth in detention at all of the youth detention centers and other support facilities in New Mexico to provide mentoring, job preparation and job placement for youth in detention, on probation or on parole statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
