AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE MEDICAID AND STATE CHILD HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY WORKERS AT VARIOUS HEALTH CLINICS THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thirty thousand dollars ($130,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the purpose of providing the state's share to hire fifty-two new full-time-equivalent employees to do concentrated outreach and education to identify and enroll children and adults in medicaid and the state child health insurance program at more than one hundred primary care health clinics throughout New Mexico. The department shall, if possible, use these funds to match any federal funds available for this purpose through the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
