AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND A PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, SELF-ESTEEM BUILDING AND ENABLES TEEN PARENTS TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($625,000) is appropriated from temporary assistance for needy families maintenance of effort funding to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide employment and life skills training, emotional support and self-esteem building and to enable teen parents to complete high school statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall not revert to temporary assistance for needy families maintenance of effort funding.
