AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTRACT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM TEACHING THE VALUE AND BENEFIT OF MARRIAGE, CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND OTHER SOCIAL SKILLS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for the cooperative extension service for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to contract for development of a curriculum to be used in all eighty-nine school districts in the state that will teach the benefits and value of marriage, the skills involved in conflict resolution and communication, the social, financial and health implications of divorce and the impact of divorce on children. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
