Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred



SENATE BILL 797



has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:



1. On page 4, lines 13 through 17, remove the brackets and line-through in their entirety.



2. On page 4, line 17, strike "thirty-six live races in each calendar week".



3. On page 4, line 20, strike "five hundred" and insert in lieu thereof "one thousand".



4. On page 5, line 13, strike "one thousand two hundred" and insert in lieu thereof "one thousand five hundred".



5. On pages 5 and 6, strike Section 3 in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following section:



"Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The provisions of this act shall become effective when the compact negotiated between the state and the tribes during the first session of the forty-fifth legislature is approved in writing by the tribes, the state and the secretary of the interior and notice of such approval is published in the federal register.".,
