Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred



SENATE BILL 143



has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:



1. On page 3, between lines 3 and 4, insert the following new section:



"Section 2. MEDICARE PRESCRIPTION BENEFIT--REVIEW.--If federal legislation providing an outpatient prescription drug benefit for the medicare program under Title 18 of the federal Social Security Act is enacted by the one hundred seventh or the one hundred eighth congress and becomes law, the legislative finance committee and the interim legislative health and human services committee shall consider the advisability of continuing the special prescription drug assistance program under the state's medicaid program for certain persons sixty-five and older.".









































2. Renumber succeeding sections accordingly.,



and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
