45TH LEGISLATURE - FIRST SESSION - 2001

REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN SENATE DISTRICT 34 IN LEA COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to purchase and install necessary equipment for the county courthouse and clerks and district attorney's office in Lea county;

fifty-nine thousand dollars ($59,000) for improvements and upgrades to various community centers in Lea county;

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for new restrooms, camping hook-ups and other related improvements to the Towle information and rest area, including compliance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, in Lea county;

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to expand the detention facility in Lea county;

one hundred seventy thousand dollars ($170,000) to plan, design, construct and equip a new food service area at the fairgrounds in Lea county;

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to purchase equipment and furniture for the county event center in Lea county; and

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for landscaping, lighting, exercise stations and an irrigation system for the health walk trail in Lea county.
